²² The tops of the pillars were shaped like lilies. In this way the work for the pillars was finished.

The Sea

²³ He made the sea of cast metal. It was round, fifteen feet from rim to rim. It was seven and a half feet high. Its circumference was forty-five feet. ²⁴ Under its rim all the way around there were round, gourd-shaped ornaments, one every two inches, all the way around the sea.^[a] The ornaments were in two rows, cast as one piece with the sea.
